Bonus terms: what to read, and in what order

A promotion rulebook usually runs to a few thousand words, of which six clauses decide practically everything. The rest is protective language. This page gives you the reading order, so you do not spend twenty minutes on paragraphs that change nothing.

Why the terms are public in the first place

An organiser licensed by ONJN operates under rules that also govern how it presents its offers. A promotion rulebook belongs to the information made available to players rather than to an internal folder. The practical consequence is direct: if the terms are not findable on the operator’s site, the problem is not your patience. And if they are findable, you already hold everything needed to judge the offer without depending on any review, including ours.

The six clauses, ranked

  1. Wagering base. „Bonus only” or „bonus plus deposit”. Often a factor of two in required volume — see wagering requirements.
  2. Validity window. The time in which rollover must close. Expiry takes the accumulated progress with it.
  3. Maximum stake during the bonus. A single breach can void winnings. Check at the start of every session.
  4. Contribution by category. How much of your play counts, depending on the type of game.
  5. Withdrawal cap. The ceiling on what the offer can pay out, most common on no deposit promotions.
  6. One account per person. A direct consequence of the operator’s identification duty. Duplicates do not survive verification.

Two clauses that sound technical and are not

Almost every rulebook contains a passage on strategic or abusive play. It covers situations where stakes are structured purely to neutralise risk, for example by covering several outcomes simultaneously. A second passage sets the order in which funds are consumed — whether your own money or the promotional credit is played first. That second one decides whether you can walk away from an offer mid-way without losing your own balance too.

Document rather than memorise

Rulebooks get updated, and the version that matters in a dispute is the one in force on the day you claimed. The cheapest protection available takes ten seconds: a screenshot of the terms page at the moment you tick the box. If matters later become complicated, that screenshot turns an argument about opinions into an argument about facts. And if reading the six clauses leads to the conclusion that the offer does not fit your pace, declining it is a perfectly valid decision. Unticked own funds carry neither rollover nor deadline.
